I was a Hillary Clinton supporter threw out the primary season. I have taken Clintons advise and pledging my support to you now. The only way GLBT's are going to reach equality is by electing a democrat to the white house. We are counting on you OBAMA!

I completely support Barack on his opinion about same sex issues. My partner and I hve been together over 9 years yet my boss doesn't recognize it. So when something happens to one of our grandchildren he doesn't approve me going to be with them. If we were a hetro couple he wouldn't have any problem with it. IT'S NOT RIGHT AND I WANT OUR RELATIONSHIP TO BE RECOGNIZED.

I think that the civil union as a federal law and same sex marriage as a state law is a great idea since America is not ready for gay marriage yet. I think that civil union is all that gay people need as long as it grants all the benefits that straight couples enjoy. . . and marriage is a religious issue-not everyone is religious. Let the churches deal with that and compete fot LGBT members as it should be done in civilized country.

i would have to agree with the speaker before, i feel that if you believe LGBT members should have civil unions but same benefits than you should follow equity as opposed to equality. if marriage is a religious term, than all hetero couples should have both a marriage license if married in a church and civil union license when done through the courts, i feel you need to take a more positive stance and become a more visible community, because this isn't only about your politics and your presidential race, but you hold the fate of many people in your hands, and that isn't something that should be taken lightly, i just hope you realize that, and will work in a positive manner to ensure that second class citizenry doesn't exist here. because truly i am not free, i am not free to marry and i am not free to live as i please. or shall i say privledged.
i hope to hear from you, or a member of you staff because i do understand that most politicians do not care about the one voice and making a difference to one person, but are more concerned with their image to the masses, but i hope that you will be different.
thank you,

Dear Sen. Obama:

Want the queer community to support you? Then grow a goddamn' spine and support us. Separate but equal is not equal -- do your damn' research and you'll see that that's exactly what civil unions, even your "strong" civil unions, are. Not having researched the subject doesn't excuse you. Religion doesn't excuse you -- as a Christian whose church *wants* to marry same-sex couples, I can tell you that there's more religious discrimination in not allowing us to do it than in giving other churches the option of doing it. How can you come here and try to recruit us to your cause while supporting laws that make us second-class citizens?

P. S. the last time I contacted your campaign with these views, I received no response and was instead signed up for your newsletter. Thanks for *listening*, dude, and I say that in full sarcasm.
