stop-and-think you are absolutely right. Your primary house at least should never be purchased with the intent of trading it as an investment. It is really not a long term investment either. It is the roof over your head. The same goes for cars in my mind. A car is not your second All Real estate in Breckenridge living room, it is transportation, point a to b. We don't need DVD players built into the back seats of the cars. If the kids want to watch DVD's, you can buy portable players for $50 and can carry it from car to car. Same goes for navigation systems, read a map. In good times frills are fun, most of the they are a liability.
