same-sex marriagesPosted December 15th, 2007 at 03:53am Is it constitutional to prohibit same sex marriages...over the past years same sex couples have been struggling to achieve the same rights granted to heterosexual couples through the process of marriage. Yet nearly all attempts have been shut off and states are defining marriage as between a man and a woman...clearly this is a simple struggle of discrimination in a reanactment of what has occured in our country since the beginning of its establishment...why do we as humans find it necessary to hate what we do not understand...from a christian religious stand point...christians who feel that homosexuality is an abomination in which every homosexual will reap the negative consequances of their lustful ways are merely misinformed...the whole religion is based off of love...lust and love are two very different issues. As many, if not more, heterosexual persons act out in lustful ways towards each other...but in the precence of love...the matter becomes completely different. God, in a sence, is the precence of love...therefore passing judement upon one another is an act against the very foundation that christianity was built on...it is not our place to pass judgement...in fact the bible clearly states that doing so is a sin...yet consistantly homosexuals, including myself, are subjected to vile accusations...God hates no one...yet we have the capability of hating...it is his place and his alone to pass judgement upon each and every one of us...point being...1.) gay marriages are constitutional...and are merely ignored due to, a. loss of federal money...and b. due to discriminatory stand points of those led to believe that the moral values of the majority should be accounted for rather than standing up for whats right and 2.) christian conservatives should take into account that every one sins...no one sin out weighs the other...and love...rather than the accusation that homosexuals are sick with hypersexual activities that are the sole basis of their desires for one another...is the reason why so many of us are pushing for equality in the eyes, not only of our government, but of our friends and family as well. |
