Can you believe summer is already over?

A homebody is somebody

Posted August 03rd, 2008 at 04:23pm

Well, I've done quite a bit of traveling lately and am ready to stay home for a while. I went to Boston and Seattle in the beginning of June for work, then I went to Chicago to visit my bro and do Chicago Pride. From there, I drove up to the Twin Cities for a family reunion. I flew back to SoCal and two days later left for Egypt. Egypt was amazing! I was rendered speechless so many times... I visited Cairo, Giza, Aswan, Luxor, Abu Simbel, and Alexandria. I also just attended a work-related conference in Texas and am relived I have no travel plans in the near future. I love to travel, but I am ready to stay home too.

Thank God It's Summer!

I am SO happy it's finally summer. Even though we are having a bit of a heat spell right now (104 degrees at my house), I'll take this over the cold of winter any day. Enjoy the summer solstice!

Gay Marriage is not a threat to others!

Posted May 18th, 2008 at 12:23am

Wow. The Supreme Court of California finally decided (4-3) that a ban on same-sex marriage is unconstitutional because it treats couples in civil unions/domestic partnerships as second class citizens. What's most amazing to me is all of the local news stations here in SoCal have presented "balanced news" by airing this proclamation with local bigots and "Christians" (because Jesus loved treating sinners differently) spouting on about how this will allow polygamists and animals to get married too. Really? Are people that offended by the idea of two men or two women who want to show to others that they are in a committed relationship? Do they really think that polygamy is the next step? Or government-sanctioned bestiality? Come on. Canada, the Netherlands, Massachusetts, etc.. have legalized gay marriage and there is no instance of people wanting to be married to more than one person nor to an animal. Some people claim that the reason gays shouldn't be married is because it threatens the sanctity of marriage or that we are too promiscuous to get married. A call to all gays: Let's prove them wrong.
