Eva Hathaway is a character created by Jan Weber. A character - just a character in a book, The Secret Life of Eva Hathaway. But something about her, Eva, her thoughts, the voices of her mother and God that constantly pester her - voices in her head - resonated with by experience. She was religiously irreligious, and I understood that about her. She caused me to do things. Take risks. Be myself. Be someone else. And I loved every moment of being good and bad. Within Eva sang the holy and the bawdy and both brought joy and even healing to others. In many ways, I knew her - I know her. She is in my past and ever in the present...tense. Who else knows Eva? Is Eva?
