Letting Go

Have you ever held onto something or someone for longer than what you know you should? Of course you have, you're only human. A memory of a moment in time maybe, doing everything to re-capture it, it's been so idealized in your mind that you can't see what's right there in front of you. Happiness passes you by everyday. You rage and are full of anger, thinking this is what I was meant to do. No matter what the outcome or who's affected, your drive gets in the way. People fear you. They steer clear of you and yet when you feel bad or slip and need someone to lean on, but there's no-one there. You use this as a crux and excuse to fuel you on. "I don't need anyone or anybody or anything, I HAVE TO DO EVERYTHING myself!" When in fact you become so hard and uncaring, you say things that in the future define who you are. People remember things, they cringe and pull away and leave you alone...isn't this what you wanted? Remember that moment you were happy? Just that one time... Let go of it. For your sake, there are people out there waiting for you, to build new moments and memories, a collection instead of just one. It's never to late to change and of course you'll slip but remember that already happened, that second, you have a million more ahead of you. Let it go.
