personal message

I am an atypical bottom (not by choice or inclination but by necessity, I used to be a top) bear. I am differently-abled (braces and a cane usually, wheels on bad or long days) now. I have some ink (a couple delts - dragons) and metal (pierced nipples, ears, and a PA). Through my so-called "vocational rehabilitation", I became a photographer and graphic artist. I am not a sugar daddy, so NO legacy children or hustlers - get a job or get a degree. Younger than me is good if you can think (and are legal); older than me is good if your mind is not set in stone. Even straight-trade is welcome since you will always be the pitcher and I will always be the catcher.

I am Pagan but I am not Wiccan (Rede smede). What most people call witchcraft (the Craft) is Saxon. Not that it is a bad thing, it is just a red dragon versus a white dragon thing. :-) I like Celtic Culture, History, Mythologies, Legends, Heroes, Pantheons (they are some differences between insular Celts and the continental Celts), etc. They are more shamanistic but they do have a great deal of faery lore. According to the National Geographic Genographic Project, not only am I genetically Celtic but I might be related to the High Kings of Ireland but, then again, who isn't?! I also have an interest in Viking and Slavic traditions and have the usual background in Greco-Roman traditions, as well. They all seem to point back to a common Indo-European source just like languages do.

I am differently-abled due to an adult on-set, sensory motor neuropathy known as Charcot-Marie-Tooth Syndrome, Type II (CMT-II). It has been characterized as of late as being a gene amplication error or mutation. In my previous life, I had been an athletic trainer, personal trainer, head lifeguard, pool manager, and shift supervisor at various gyms, athletic clubs, and aquatic facilities. I did fitness testing, strength training and coaching, weight lifting, olympic lifting, and powerlifting (yes, there is a difference between the last three).

Oh well, you have to roll with the punches.

Not just "Something Wicked This Way Comes" ...
but something dark and sticky, crude and earthy, too!

(Johannesburg, South Africa) Lesbians are being targeted for rape to “cure” them and make them straight a report by a South African anti-poverty group says.

Rape already is a major problem in South Africa.  The report, by ActionAid, found that almost half of all South African women will be raped in their lifetimes.  Each year there are about a half... (continue reading)

There's Something Queer about That Face

Bering in Mind -  February 23, 2009

Without being aware of it, most people can accurately identify gay men by face alone
By Jesse Bering ...
Although I've always wanted this particular superhuman power, I've never been very good at detecting other men's sexual orientation. Findings from a recent study published in the Journal of Experimental Social Psychology, however, suggest I may be underestimating my gaydar abilities.

The January 2008... (continue reading)
