Grew up outside of Chicago, currently am a graduate student at ASU in music composition, TA-ing music theory. I write music and play many different instruments (clarinet, piano, organ). I have a glee music page (check it out!) linked to this profile on the left column. I'm a perfectionist who makes mistakes and never regrets. I organize my disorganization. I understand cause and effect. My words are sometimes blunt, but you will have my honest opinion. My seriousness is my humor (dry sarcasm!). I care deeply for those who take the time to get to know me. I am an artist, composer, writer, and musician who does what he loves...even if it doesn't pay well. Like most normal guys, I like shopping, movies, dining out, cuddling, etc. I am very open and comfortable with my sexuality and I don't use it to attract attention. I know I may seem pretty serious now here at the moment, but I do open up nicely when I meet someone. It's the shyness factor, man. My Spring Break isn't much of a break. I'm busy as ever making the final sprint to graduation. I have one movement of a four movement piano trio complete (my thesis) and the second movement is pretty well established. I have to study for my exit exam in the next week as well as organize lots of rehearsals for my composition recital on the 29th.
Still no word on my doctoral application to ASU. I hope to find out Monday.
I dumped my boyfriend the other night. I was unhappy, our relationship was not working for me, and it was obvious the situation would not change. Luckily I did not have much invested and we hadn't moved in together. It's disappointing and surprising because I was beginning to think and imagine that he might be 'the one'. We had a lot in common, we were attracted to each other's insides and outsides, we could make each other laugh...he understood and accepted me for who I am.
It's been a long time since I've written in here. The fall semester was pretty tight and full of stress, work, and surprises. I know no one looks at this page anymore because I am no longer single. I went on too many one-time dates last year and a boyfriend basically fell out of the sky and into my lap.
We've been together for at least two months now, which is the longest I've been in a relationship with someone. I'm starting to have my doubts and I'm not sure I can be in a relationship... (continue reading)
