I wrote a sonnet to commemorate our victory in the California Supreme Court:
It was on October's first day, the year
Was 1948: this is a date
That 'twould be well to not forget - 'twas great.
A mighty blow for equality here
Was struck: let bigots run and hide for fear,
For on that day in California state,
The Supreme Court decided on the fate
Of interracial marriage, making clear
That the state's ban was ill-written, and more:
