I'm the author of three mystery novels set in Honolulu:
- Mahu, published by Haworth Press in 2005, and
scheduled to be reprinted in a new edition by Alyson Books in 2009.
Honolulu homicide detective Kimo Kanapa'aka is outed during the
investigation of a difficult case.
- Mahu Surfer, published by Alyson Books in 2007. Kimo goes
undercover on the north shore of Oahu to figure out who's been
killing surfers.
- Mahu Fire, published by Alyson Books in 2008. Back in Honolulu,
Kimo investigates a bombing at a benefit in support of gay
marriage, and meets a sexy firefighter.
Because I love my dog so much, I put together (with my friend
Sharon Sakson) a collection called Paws and Reflect: A Special
Bond Between Man and Dog, published by Alyson in 2006 in
hardcover, and in trade paperback in 2007.
I also edited Hard Hats, a collection of gay
construction worker erotica, that was so much fun to put together
that I'm doing another anthology, called Surfer Boys, due out in
2009. Both are published by Cleis Press.
