Gnarls Barkley, the Grammy-winning, genre-wrecking partnership of artist/producer Danger Mouse and soul sensation Cee-Lo, will release their new album The Odd Couple a couple of weeks early.
Initially slated for an April 8th release, The Odd Couple will now be available at various online and physical music retailers across the week of March 18th.
"They felt the timing was right to just go for it," said an unnamed spokesman for the band. "With the shifting seasons, furtive romantic entanglements and fierce college basketball rivalries, the latter half of March can be confusing. People need to be soothed and inspired now."
The Odd Couple arrives in the wake of Gnarls Barkley's international success with the 2006 LP St. Elsewhere. "Run," the propulsive first single from The Odd Couple, is already a radio staple, and its inventive video is gaining worldwide attention for its absurd humor and its controversial effects.

Gnarls Barkley Push up LP Release Date to...Right Now
Gnarls Barkley-- totally non-sucky, and buckers of trends both musical and, now, logistical-- are throwing caution to the wind and sticking their sophomore set, The Odd Couple, in digital (and some physical) stores today, March 18, and all brick-and-mortar ones next Tuesday, March 25. The album's original release date was April 8.
New Gnarls Barkley video too crazy for MTV U.K
The video for Gnarls Barkley's new single, "Run," may feature a cameo from Justin Timberlake, but it's still not quite ready to air on MTV in the U.K. That's because of its strobe effects, which caused the clip to fail the Harding Test -- guidelines established to prevent TV images from triggering epileptic seizures.
Early listen: Gnarls Barkley's 'The Odd Couple'
The latest from two-time Grammy winners Gnarls Barkley, The Odd Couple, hit the Web last night, and judging from early listens, the duo has returned with an album thats just as dark and haunting as its 2006 debut, St. Elsewhere.
