personal message

Just recently became single! Out and about, lookin', and having fun networking, and hopefully will be making new friends, near and far.

I'm a big Smiths/Morrissey fan. It used to be just part of some serious but playful pretensions to gloom and doom, until mid-life crises and one heart-wrenching break-up made it unbearable to listen to Morrissey for a while. "...Too close to the bone...," so he whines.

I'm also a "latest and best" gadget buff. I'm a slave to my iPhone, the various accesories hooked up to my PC and some computer projects. While some of my friends troll the up-scale malls for some haute-label doodad, I spend my shopping hours carefully checking aisle after aisle for that uber-find at Fry's Electronics. Purely a hobby...

I prefer hanging out at my place where I cook and entertain with the few old friends I have. I drink single malt scotch, and partial to anything from Isley. My particular favorite is quarter-cask Laphroaig. It goes well with good ol' stinky, gooey blue cheese.

And yet, finding the number of "safe" revelations about myself above inadequate, I find it oddly interesting how others bare their souls in this "personal message" section and profess to some morals and values, or some other lofty ideals that they supposedly hold true to themselves. The compulsion to make known such things must be borne out of too much experience (or lack of it), or a lot of reading. But I don't pretend to know much and have very little opinion to offer about the subject. So I hang on to every string of 5-dollar words that every guy writes in a sensible grammar and imagine myself to have found my MOMD (man of my dreams)! That is one heavenly thought deserving a shot of Isley and a nip of Stilton, I'll say!!
