So... I'm never good at these talk about myself online profile thingys... Let's see. I'm Matt, 22 years old and I live in Charlotte, NC, originally from Winston-Salem, NC (and the Greensboro area).

I'm taking time off from school at UNC-Greensboro and have moved to Charlotte, NC, for a new job & continued opportunities to serve the LGBT community. Most likely, I will begin school again part-time in Spring 2008. I'm working for Q-Notes, the LGBT Newspaper of the Carolinas.

I "came out" when I was 14 years old, at the end of my 8th grade year and got involved in LGBT and community politics and activism when I started a gay-straight alliance at my high school in 2000 and later when I was dismissed for from the Boy Scouts of America under their membership policies which disallow what they refer to as "avowed homosexuals;" or, in other words, gay people who aren't afraid to actually live up to the Boy Scout Oath and Law and live honest lives of dignity and integrity.

In North Carolina, I'm active in numerous LGBT and community organizations.
