Functions:
Develop requirements and preliminary design of key components for a next-generation space suit
Specify component performance requirements and develop the master equipment list for spacecraft ECLSS and TCS
Lay out the ducting and plumbing for new spacecraft using commercial 3-D modeling software
Develop schematics and solid models of the next generation of space cargo vehicles
Develop standardized designs of environmental control and life support systems as well as thermal control systems for commercial spacecraft
Perform thermal, structural, and fluid flow analysis of ECLSS and TCS for new spacecraft
Develop and review plans to manufacture, test, and verify the operation of new spacecraft life support and thermal control systems
Thermal Engineer Qualifications:
A minimum of 5-10 years of experience in thermal design and analysis
BS Degree, MS Degree, or Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or other related degree (required)
Direct experience with thermal analysis software specifically Thermal Desktop is required
Prior experience in the aerospace industry (a plus)
Thermal design/analysis experience is required
