Salem Health is seeking unscheduled status employees who are utilized in periods of increased patient care requirements or high census to provide acceptable staffing levels in addition to providing coverage during a regularly scheduled employee's absence (sick leave, vacation, etc). This is not a full-time or part-time position and therefore not benefits eligible. Unscheduled employees are required to work at least two shifts per month, however, Salem Health cannot assure a set schedule or hours per week.
What's even better is our Unscheduled Status Occupational Therapist personnel may be eligible to receive a 10% differential. To receive this differential, an employee must be available to work a minimum of 1 weekend shift or 1 holiday shift per month for a minimum of 12 shifts per year as described in the Home Care and Rehab Unscheduled Status Personnel Policy.

Acute:
Serves in all areas of the hospital including: ICU, Surgical, Cardiac, Orthopedic, Neuro, OP and IP Wound Care, Oncology, Pediatric, and NICU. Our team offers collaborative interactions daily with physicians/surgeons, RNs, therapy staff, social services, respiratory care and wound care specialists.
Inpatient Rehab:
Our Inpatient Rehab services are the only kind of service in the Mid-Willamette Valley. Our inpatient rehabilitation unit provides a comprehensive individualized team approach to a person's rehabilitation following hospitalization for stroke, head injury, trauma or other complex medical diagnoses. Unique attributes of our comprehensive multidisciplinary program includes: body weight supported treadmill training, warm-water therapeutic pool, 24 hour physician coverage, intensive Rehab Care Monday- Saturday, individual case management, availability of home and community therapy environments to maximize learning.
Home Care:
1:1 patient care, a variety of cases, never a dull day! Plan and administer physical therapy treatment programs for physician referred patients. Home Care is a licensed, Medicare-certified, skilled, physician ordered service that is provided to residents of 6 local counties in their homes. Working in the home care setting allows: Laptop computer documentation; autonomous practice within multi-disciplinary teams; mileage reimbursement and flexible scheduling.
Outpatient Musculoskeletal:
The Musculoskeletal program includes general and specialized orthopedic injuries and surgeries, aquatic therapy and sports medicine. Other programs include lymphedema, hand therapy, arthritis, and manual therapy specialties. Clinic days are Monday through Friday.
Outpatient Neuromuscular:We are proud to be the only service of this kind treating pediatrics, post polio, aquatic therapy, vestibular disorders, safe driving, spinal cord injuries, balance/vestibular PT, brain injury, and continence.
Work Injury Management:
Work with a team to rehabilitate the injured worker. The program works closely with the Occupational Medicine program and have dedicated staff to provide a comprehensive approach to injury management.
West Valley Hospital (Outpatient):
Our clinic is staffed by PTs, PTAs, Athletic Trainer, OT, SLP and support staff. The clinic includes an aquatic, osteoporosis, incontinence, fall prevention, an arthritic program and an active sports medicine program from a full time ATC. In addition to those programs, we also provide services to inpatients and swing bed patients.* Salary information and status different than Salem Hospital information. Must be a graduate of an AOTA accredited college or University and registered by American Occupational Therapy Association. Posses or able to obtain a license to practice in the state of Oregon or become licensed as an Occupational Therapist in the State of Oregon prior to date of hire. Requires a current BLS CPR Certification or the ability to obtain. Acceptable certification must include Adult, Infant and Child. Upon hire, if you do not hold current certification, you must enroll in an upcoming CPR course through the Salem Hospital Education Services Department, or an external course.Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:
Able to perform physical work at a medium level with or without accommodation including being able to lift 35 to 50 pounds unaided and using proper body mechanics. Must be able to bend and stoop.
