The Stroke Program is a formalized program providing emergency visit and inpatient evidence based practice for adult and pediatric patients who present signs and symptoms of stroke. This is achieved through appropriate management of patients by evidence based protocols, performance improvement initiatives and multidisciplinary treatment team programs. The Stroke Coordinator interacts in a collaborative role with Physicians, Nurses and other Health Care Professionals in an Advanced Practice Nursing role to advocate and act as a care giver and coordinator of care for patients, who present with stroke symptoms. The Stroke Coordinator also plans organizes, directs, coordinates, and controls clinical and administrative functions for Stroke Management services in accordance with Nursing department, Hospital and Health Care System strategic plans.
