Manager - Manager/Supervisor
The incumbent is responsible for developing and implementing global (including HGT but ex- MA) short and long-range plans and strategies to meet Shires goals to provide an optimum physical environment for staff in both new and existing offices.
Duties are carried out with considerable independence within a framework of policies and administrative guidelines.
Provides guidance and oversight to and as directed by REFS management and Senior Leadership on global space planning and global expansion strategy in coordination with CBS, SP and HGT.
Establishes and convenes a space advisory committee (including representatives from CBS and BUs) to resolve space needs.
Works with CBS and business units to assess, plan, direct and resolve global space needs (excluding MA).
Employs and works with appropriate resources (e.g. consultants, architects, engineers, and/or contractors) to resolve facilities needs with appropriate space utilization planning.
Designs, implements and monitors global facility utilization policies, procedures and programs, due diligence guidelines; cost allocation strategies; execution strategies;
Assists with the evaluation of financial options (e.g. lease/buy, lease financing strategies, TI allowances, termination and disposition options) for all facilities
Develops project budgets in collaboration with local Facility personnel;
Collaborates with Facilities Operations ADs and appropriate personnel on planning of space related issues to ensure maximum use of space at all facilities.
Establishes and maintains accurate facilities' space inventory database.
Exercises independent judgment in the course of carrying out overall responsibilities.
Responsible for preparing reports and metrics.
Provides a high level of service to all internal and external customers.

Requirements:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a subject area related to the assignment
10 years + minimum relevant recent full time experience with a major overseeing such activities as facility planning in a large corporation
Or, any combination of education and experience which would provide the required qualifications for this position
Demonstrates experience with real estate practices, organizational and facility planning
Pharmaceutical experience desirable
International exposure and understanding of legal and cultural differences
Auto CAD experience preferred
Principles of facility planning, including business management practices, personnel practices, administrative practices, and related legal responsibilities
Interpersonal communication, verbally and writing
Analyzing and solving a variety of difficult situations and problems
Ability to work independently
Collaborating with a diverse and large number of constituencies.
Knowledge of:
- computer based technology for management of facilities planning.
- principles and practices of administrative organization and management, planning
- principles of budgeting, budget reporting and financial management.
- office technology, practices, procedures and equipment and software programs for word processing, spreadsheets, presentation programs and databases.
Must hold a valid motor vehicle license
Must have a valid passport
