Satyagraha: The Opera by Philip Glass

In 1989, Philip Glass presented to the world his opera, Satyagraha, chronicling the first important events in the life of Gandhi that later shaped his legendary life. Last night I saw the opera's debut in the Met in NYC, and was transfixed by the music, the scenery, the acting, and the message of the opera.

Read this blog about being a gay parent and Satyagraha here...

Thom Yorke Goes Classical On New Album

Radiohead⿿s Thom Yorke has remixed a piece of classical music for a new album by John Mathias and Nick Ryans.

Ooooo! Check it out!

New video up! I posted the first movement of Rachmaninoff's Second Symphony in response to the Mahler discussion. What do you all think about length and music? Should pieces be short and sweet, or is there merit to long and epic pieces? Voice your opinion and listen to my favorite symphony, which is probably over an hour long!
