i went to a high school with a relatively large gsa (close to if not more than 20 people). everyone there came from all different backgrounds and families. a few were gay, some were completely out and others were still relatively in the closet. there was really no telling where everyone was coming from or what had happened to them during the week until we hit the once a week meeting.

one of the kids that i spoke to during the meetings was a son of lesbian mothers. both of them were always addressed as mom as far as i ever found out. since he was a little when the original pair separated (im not sure if they ever went passed dating) and they had gotten other partners. he considered all 4 of them his parents and all of them were mom to him and it was family for him.

for me having 2 parents and however many kids is family. for him it was four. does anyone have a different definition of family?
