Hello there boys, girls, and everyone in between.  I'm Devin Tait and I'm part of the band Shitting Glitter and I really hope you've heard of us, but it's OK if you haven't... because now you have.

I grew up on a farm near Paradise, KS (pop. 60) and ever since I was old enough to watch MTV I dreamed of being in a pop band.  I took piano lessons on and off all through my childhood but had a difficult time concentrating on practicing and reading music.  I preferred to write my own songs.  Unfortunately most music teachers, especially in Rural Kansas, aren't too excited to hear a kid play their own songs.  I was lucky that a couple teachers I had really encouraged it, but I still was too distracted too rehearse too often.  

My younger brother and I formed a band called Singe while he was in high school and i was in college and I enjoyed it immensely, despite the ups and downs.  

I graduated college in 2000 and moved to Los Angeles where I met Amy Crosby and Von Edwards who were dating at the time, my first real lesbian friends, and I sort of became an honorary lesbian.  They were already writing songs together so I brought my keyboard over and things just gelled.  We formed Shitting Glitter in the summer of 2001 and had our first show that December.

I met my boyfriend Dylan the next fall, after Shitting Glitter played at LA Valley Pride.  We've been together pretty much ever since our first date, which was at a drag bar in Studio City that was called Oasis (not there anymore, unfortunately).  

With my band, I've been lucky enough to play cool shows like LA Pride, Reykjavik Pride, touring the west coast where we had a blast especially in Portland, playing on the Chelsea Piers in New York City, and opening for my all time favorite singer Tiffany in Albuquerque.  We released our album "Free Alongside Ship" last year and I'm extremely proud of it, but currently we are recording our next album which I think is going to be even better.

I'm also presently taking poems that my grandma (who suffered a stroke last summer) wrote and I'm putting them to music.  I guess it's my first "solo" project and I'm pretty excited about it.

That's my life in a nutshell.  I like to party, I like to drink, I love my friends and family especially my parents.  I am a gay rights advocate and I try to be a good person.
