The following thingy is my general message that I put on all my
social networking sites, and I update it quite frequently. I'm here
because in the oppressive confines of high school culture, it is
very hard to find anyone to whom I can relate. Hopefully, I can
meet some nice people here and maybe, maybe, let it go further.
I am human first and foremost; therefore, I am not perfect and I
have likely transgressed against you. I give my most sincere
apologies, but, frankly, you should be expecting me to fail you,
and you should be expecting yourself to fail people. This is a
common occurrence.
The next quality about myself is extremely important -- even
tantamount to any other quirks of my personality. I am an atheist.
I DO NOT lie in a gray area between Christianity, Islam, Judaism,
Buddhism, Shintoism, and atheism. I am completely
(demi)(g)od(ess)(e)(s)-free. This statement is likely to draw
vehement sentiment from those whose beliefs assert that I am
"lost". I think that I am an extremely morally aware individual.
Religion rose from morality which rose from evolution. Morality is
NOT a product of religion like it is advertised. I respect
arguments that are contrary to my views that use reputable sources
and evidence that can be verified. It has been demonstrated time
and time again that the Bible has been "revised for translation" so
many times that the tyranny of the majority has corrupted the text.
I, if you have not already noticed, do enjoy talking about this
topic. Please talk to me if you would like to discuss or debate
this in a civil manner. Otherwise, for more information, I
recommend "God Delusion, The" by Richard Dawkins and having a look
at his foundation's website, richarddawkins.net.
I am a homosexual individual. That there is a fairly
self-explanatory concept. I do not have much to say on this other
than that I was put through a lot before I was comfortable
realizing my sexuality. I DO NOT glamorize this fact, nor do I
annoyingly announce it. I do not expect all people who read this to
think highly of me, nor do I expect that. If you feel the urge to
voice your opinions about my "heathenistic, blasphemous choices"
(contrarily, homosexuality from birth is heavily supported by
scientific evidence), I simply ask that you choose to ignore me in
the way that you probably ignore others. You and I stand to gain
nothing in a battle of illogical insults.
I do not identify with a political party. I tend to be a
pragmatist, and I support a combination of socialist and communist
(not the communist that you think you know) ideas. For the first
American election in which I will participate, I support Barack
Obama. I urge you to consider them when voting; if not, research! I
find it hard to tolerate America's electoral process when it relies
on people conforming to the majority or when the process is a
popularity contest. Make your choice based on an objective
examination of your beliefs. I also have respect for Ron Paul,
whose ideals with which I do not necessarily agree, but I admire
his strict Constitutionalist views.
