PJ is aka Buck Sevitch is a Multi Media Artist and 1960's Bundt
Cake and Dessert Guru. So it is not unusual for some to be
attracted to his Politcally Provocative Art while others swoon over
his Creative Dessert Creations. The Oldest Son of a Detroit
Automobile Designer, Buck grew up in a creative household and
studied Multimedia Art and Architecture on the East Coast prior to
moving to New York and eventually to Los Angeles where he worked in
Architectural Design. Growing up in rural New England he was
spellbound by his infamous Mom's Shock Value Desserts ranging from
from Baked Ice Cream Alaska to Harvey Wallbanger Bundt Cakes. Even
now he hosts theme parties with friends to unveil unusually fun and
entertaining dessert treats along with dinners from his personal
collection of Vintage Cook Books. His favorite is the Wise Potato
Chip Cookbook featuring Potato Chip Meatloaf. Many of his Desserts
are ship-able throughout the United States and custom requests are
a specialty. As a self-taught artist, Buck Sevitch grew up in rural
New England. As early as grade school he focused on environmental
and political issues. At eight he was going door to door selling
bracelets to raise awareness of POW's lost to the Viet Nam War.
Neighbors asked if he was a communist (he was not and nor is now).
Buck's work, while whimsical, is essentially political, always
using the provocative to draw the viewer into a dialogue about more
fundamental issues. The Please Don't Feed the Models series focuses
on the quest for personal physical perfection and the literal and
figurative starvation that men in particular - go through to
achieve it. Each piece has a genuine vintage recipe (guaranteed to
cure body dismorphia) hand written by the artist on the back - to
tempt the viewer and the caged models in the feeding zoo. Another
Favorite is his George W. Bush series which is a tribute to Andy
Warhol's Soup Can Phenomenon updated with Bush Bean Cans in Collage
with George Washington Dollar Bills and Sensual W cleaved Pecs.
Others prefer the Environmental Starkness of a Shorn-Headed Men
Series which boasts Buzz Cut Guys in Collage Morphs of a half dozen
faces in Mosiac to form another entirely different Face Print.
Sevitch likes to use found objects in his work. Mostly Paper, Metal
and Wire on Board with Acrylic. Sometimes with Abstract Polaroid.
Why SWING BATTER? Seems Natural for a College Third Baseman who
makes a living creating Art and Retro 1960's Bundt Cakes!
"Hopefully, any art - painting, film, novel - leaves you well fed
and with something you can't quickly forget." Art from (c)

welcome. Enjoy!
