Welcome to the Los Angeles Academy of Figurative Art. We have a
wide array of courses, which is effective in developing artists from all stages of their artistic careers. The classes in this program are offered in a progressive manner, so you can decide which classes are best for you, helping you work toward your goal of becoming a well trained artist. The Studio Sessions Program is geared toward the working arts professional, part-time student, and recreational artist who are unable to attend our Full-time Atelier Program, but want serious art instruction from our highly qualified faculty. These classes are conveniently offered weekdays, weekends, and evenings to fit your busy schedule. LAAFA is breaking new ground in fundamental artistic training, with a program rooted in classical traditions while addressing progressive conceptual ideas of the contemporary scene. LAAFA/Atelier strives to prepare artists of the 21st century, to be well versed in the accurate depiction of light and form, while maintaining a clear understanding of visual storytelling and composition. LAAFA's innovative Atelier focuses on training both the accurate impression and conceptual expression simultaneously.
