personal messageI am a 55 year old gay man, semi retired ( I have a small pension from the VA.) I am active with The Gay and Lesbian Alliance of the Central Coast (GALA) and volunteer as librarian for a small, LGBTQ oriented library housed at their comnunity center. I also write a bi-monthly column for the GALA newsletter. (In addition to my column, I have written short stories, essays, poetry and one completed novel.) No suprise that I love to read (good novels and biographies mostly.) I like movies, concerts and theatre (I've recently seen road company productions of "Hairspray," "Gypsy," "CATS" and "Ragtime") I like acoustic guitar orented rock (real big on the new Jack Johnson CD) but open to new alternative music (read as college radio station fare) and musical theatre soundtraacks.. I am in recovery with 3 years sober as of September 3rd and I am active in 12 step service work. (I attended the big Pacific Regional AA service assembly in Anchorage, Alaska back in March.) I am single and interested in meeting new friends with similar interests favorite pages

We are coming up to another season of pride fetivals and parades. They are always fun, somewhat drunken affairs (that part can get tedious if you don't drink.) But they reflect a sense of community and comradery as members of the LGBTQ community and this is always a good thing. My first pride parade was in San Francisco in 78. I was twenty four and pretty new to organized gay life. I don't think I will ever forget the first time I saw a multiple block contingent of Dykes... (continue reading) |
