recent blog postsGATEWAY PROJECT TRAININGPosted October 12th, 2008 at 03:56pm
On October 17th the members of GATEWAY will hold another professional training in St. Lucie County. The Title is Cultural Considerations in Working with LGBTQ Youth. The cost is $25 and includes CEU's. We hope our work continues to support LGBTQ youth. For information contact me at lzeh@fchcinc.org. Take care! Lori LGBT Youth Expo postponedPosted October 12th, 2008 at 03:51pm
Unfortunately the youth expo we have planned is postponed until the Spring because of lack of finances. The good news is that our upcoming training on Oct 17th is acting as a fundraiser and the training fee will go toward the youth event. Plus we are partnering with the local ACLU people who will also contribute to the cost of the event. We are not giving up! Peace, Lori GET READY!Posted May 24th, 2008 at 02:20pm The GATEWAY PROJECT team is planning a Youth Expo to be held this October. We will be looking for vendors, local bands, and sponsors for this event. Once we finalize the location and date I'll get back with you! Thanks for your support! Lori |
personal messageI moved here to Florida 3 and 1/2 years ago from NYC. wow talk about culture shock. Anyway it's been pretty cool so far I am loving the weather. All of my family are still in NY but my partner and I have been making some great friends here. I usually get back to NY once a month or so. I am really a supporter of women and recognize how much power and potential women have. So every chance I have I take to support women in finding their personal power and goals and dreams. It's so important that they believe in themselves. For the last year I have been taking the lead to get the GLBTQ community recoginzed and understood here in the Treasure Coast but it hasn't been the easiest work. I'm hoping to meet more people in the Treasure Coast area of Florida that may want to get involved with this movement to bring awareness of GLBTQ issues to the local professional arena and get the community involved in events. Check out our websites to get an idea of what we are doing. If you want to get involved email me. We meet 2x's a month in Port St. Lucie. Likewise if you have anything to contribute (time, resources, ideas, space, or finances) please let me know we are grateful for the assistance. Our goal is to open a community center. www.myspace.com/gatewayproject
