I'm a free-spirited, science grad student in Chicago, but originally from Florida. Dichotomy is the story of my life.
I am a writer, poet, musician, friend, sister, and intellect. I enjoy learning as much as i can, especially about people and history. I am very much into art and creativity. i believe the African and Caribbean peoples are creative by nature. I love paintings and sculptures, music and writing, poetry readings, and jazz sessions. Music is the beginning and the end to me. It's the way i speak, the way i cry, the way i express myself entirely. It's also, i believe, how God chooses to speak to me, at times.
i'm finishing up my stint in Chi-town. I've decided to leave here with the Master's Degree. However, i plan to continue my education....just in another field because this doesn't excite me. So, i'm looking into Biostatistics, Epidemiology, and Global Health. Pray for me! I'm looking to go to come down south for the next chapter of my life. Research is ok, but my ultimate goal is to eventually fund the creation of a private school for underprivileged youth. There's so many kids out there that could be strong positive forces in the world if given the chance... and so many kids that are afraid of science, math, and school in general because no one has taken the time to teach them properly; no one has invested in them.
All this being said, i know that we're not promised the next minute, let alone the next day; so i make sure to enjoy those i care about as much as i can and be a positive force in their lives. I like to smile, love to laugh, and absolutely adore seeing others do the same.
My focus has been shifted to generating data and writing my Master's Thesis by December of this year. So, i have a tendency to disappear into the abyss of my studies at times.
