personal message

Thank you for the support and encouragement that our campaign received over the past several months. It was a tremendous experience, and one that I will not forget; it was one of hearing the people, seeing the issues, and feeling the tumult of the political process.

I have learned on the "trail" to be "brief," as two to three minutes must sum up a lifetime and rationale.
To those who believed in my message, and supported me financially, thank you, as I know how tough the economy has been on all of us.

For those who worked tirelessly as unpaid volunteers, you have my utmost thanks and respect for hanging in there; bucking the status quo, and giving of a precious commodity, time.
I was honored in the course of my campaign to have had the former Attorney General of the United States, Janet Reno believe in me, and my candidacy, enough to make a very rare political appearance in a display of support. It was a phenomenal experience to have shared a stage and strong belief in the integrity of our Democratic process with such an icon.
I am also truly proud of a volunteer base that was as diverse as the melting pot that we call Broward County! All of whom are good Democrats who believe in the fundamental basis of our Democracy being "the vote!"

Thank you all and I will continue to "fight the good fight."
Please allow me to leave you with two of my favorite quotes that sum up my feeling of the past several months, as well as my future.
"To laugh often and love much; to win the respect of intelligent persons and the affection of children; to earn the approbation of honest citizens and endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate beauty; to find the best in others; to give of one's self; to leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition; to have played and laughed with enthusiasm and sung with exultation; to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived - this is to have succeeded." RALPH WALDO EMERSON
"Do not run a campaign that would embarrass your mother." ROBERT C. BYRD
